TO SET THE LATEST “URBAN PROSPERITY INDEX,” THE UNITED NATIONS HUMAN SETTLEMENTS PROGRAMME (UN-HABITAT) ANALYZED DATA FOR 50 MAJOR CITIES AROUND THE WORLD, AND AS A RESULT OF THE ANALYSIS, 29 CITIES ENTERED THE FINAL RANKING INCLUDING: BANGKOK, BOGOTA, BOENOS AIRES, HONG KONG, DARSALAM, DALHI, JAKARTA, LAGOS, LIMA, LONDON, MADRID, MEXICO CITY, MOSCOW, NAIROBI, NEW YORK, OSAKA, PARIS, BEIJING, SANTIAGO, SÃO PAULO, SIUL, SYDNEY, SINGAPORE, TOKYO, TORONTO, HO CHI MINH, SHANGHAI, WUHAN AND RIYADH.
During the classification studies, experts from UN-HABITAT and Eure Research Center analyzed several data related to cities such as economic productivity rates, infrastructure development, quality of life, equality and social inclusion, and environmental sustainability, and the balance between these indicators was assessed.
In the (quality of life) assessment of the classification, the Russian capital Moscow ranked first, followed by Singapore, followed by Hong Kong, where the level of development in cities was evaluated in the field of health care, education, science and technology, culture, entertainment and security.
As for the classification of cities in terms of “infrastructure development”, Moscow also came first, followed by Singapore, while the French capital Paris ranked third.
In developing this category of classification, several areas related to housing, transport infrastructure, urban space efficiency and other service areas were studied.
For the “urban boom index” in general, Singapore ranked first, followed by Toronto, followed by Moscow, and then Sydney, London, Paris, Madrid, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and tenth came New York.
