When Einstein’s brain was stolen

Albert Einstein died on April 18, 1955. Einstein always wanted his body to be cremated, except that Thomas Harvey, the coroner who explained Einstein’s body, decided to steal his brain for later study.

But his crime did not remain a secret for a long time, as soon as the Einstein family discovered the truth, Harvey was able to obtain retroactive permission to use it as long as it was exclusively in the service of scientific research.

But for obvious reasons, Harvey lost his job shortly after and when he left the hospital, he took the brain with him and eventually explained it to 244 slices and kept them in containers of solid rubber celluloid.
